Procesarea video AVIVO este prezentă pentru vizualizarea conţinutului video, ATI Radeon X1200 putând reda conţinut MPEG-2, MPEG-4 şi WMV9. Chipset-ul dispune şi de un encoder TV care furnizează semnal composite şi S-Video. Interfaţa dual-link 24-bit LVDS oferă conectivitatea pentru monitoare, în timp ce o interfaţă TMDS oferă porturile DVI şi HDMI. Ca şi varianta desktop, noul M690 integrează un controller HD (high-definition) pentru funcţiile audio HDMI, fiind suportat şi conţinutul HDCP 1.1.

Chipset-ul include şi un port PCI-e 16x pentru conectarea plăcilor grafice, un port PCI-e 1X pentru celelalte dispozitive, 10 porturi USB 2.0, SATA II, ATA133, TPM 1.1 şi 1.2, sunet HD (high-definition) şi sloturi PCI v2.3. Câţiva producători şi-au manifestat deja interesul pentru noul chipset, printre aceştia numărându-se Asus, HP şi Fujitsu Siemens Computing.

AOpen a anunţat cu foarte puţină vreme în urmă produsul i946GZm-DF, o placă de bază format micro-ATX bazată pe northbridge-ul Intel i946GZ şi southbridge-ul ICH7. Beneficiind de HyperTransport 3.0, RD790 va oferi 42 lane-uri PCI Express, dintre care 32 de lane-uri pot alimenta de la două până la patru porturi PCIe în diferite configuraţii.
