Propun sa discutam niste standarde de calitate ale melodiilor folosite pentru stabilirea calitatii sunetului unei placi audio si a unui sistem de boxe (sisteme X.1,2 included). Eventual sa propunem niste melodii ce sa scoata in evidenta anumite tipuri de sunete (gen bass, inalte). Dati si niste linkuri daca se poate.

Eu propun folosirea de melodii in format FLAC si in cel mai rau caz MP3 320 Bitrate. Exista si formate mai bune ca MP3 320 folosind comprimare cu pierdere dar cum MP3 este foarte raspandit...

Mi se pare o aberatie sa testezi cu orice altceva decat un format loosless... Si chiar si pentru format loosless, 44.1kHz, 16 bit mi se pare putin dar... asta e -- nu prea se fac DVD-uri/SACD-uri cu muzica...

Era un plugin de xmms care scotea un sunet cu frecvenţa definită de utilizator. Presupun că există/se poate scrie un script, în perl să zicem, care să-l comande să treacă prin tot spectrul auzibil.
Am mai găsit aruncate undeva şi astea (mp3 128/44 cred - jalnic, ştiu, dar poate folosesc la ceva):

Generator de frecventa-test. Se poate genera orice frecventa cu orice calitate disponibila placii de sunet respective (de exemplu stereo cu sampling 24bit/192kHz pt Audigy2).

Cu privire la testare cu muzica... dupa ce am ascultat versiunea DVD-A a Queen-The game si Pink Floyd-The Dark Side of the Moon pot zice ca se simte diferenta fata de CD-urile originale.
Alta alternativa este ascultarea unui HDCD cu WMP (are decodare incorporata de cand MS a cumparat patentul) - este un CD inregistrat special care are esantionarea 44.1kHz si 20bit (compatibil si cu playerele "normale" in mod 16 bit). Discuri in acest format - Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms, Tom Petty - Greatests Hits Colection (6CD), etc. Un catalog: http://www.hifimusic.se/hdcd/index.php?p=base

Discurile de testare a difuzoarelor Chesky. Sunt inregistrate de mai multe ori, expunand astfel diferentele intre legaturi digitale, coaxiale, optice (normal ca aici n-ar trebui sa fie alta problema decat jitter) analogice cu diferite cablaje... testari de soundstage si stereo image, cu setup de tobe la diferite distante, si chiar si diferite pozitionari 3D.
