Exista o serie de programe pentru testarea monitoarelor.
Pentru testarea monitoarelor CRT si LCD:

Nokia Monitor Test .

Pentru testarea monitoarelor LCD:

Dead Pixel Test .

Dead Pixel Tester .

Mira (variatii continuue numai pe CRT) de gri. Pentru testarea numarului de biti ai LCD, se vor afisa treceri in trepte. Cu cat mai putine, cu atat mai prost. Rulerul rosu (markerul) arata exact la cati biti se face schimbarea pe un LCD dat.
